Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took the lead in The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their provocative lyrics and punkish fashion. The group did not have any fans in their home country of the United States. However, their fame grew internationally and especially in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a solo heavy metal artist after the group split up in 1979. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her first solo album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin at the Edge". Ford disappeared for a few decades from the world of music following the albums' failure to draw any attention. The smash hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in the year 1988. Both the single "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" became huge hit songs. Unfortunately her popularity was only brief, and she went under the radar for a couple of years. Re-emerging with releases of "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years following. in 2016, the latest album, 'Time Capsule, was made available.
